ON JUNE 5th:
Opening reception for the art show
HORNDRIBBLES: Mystery of the Wakatrance
plus SIX MONTHS TO LIVE performing an acoustic show
When explorers Duke Perkins and Annabelle Gentils stumble upon the Lost Island of the Wakatrance, they discover danger, addictive berries and cute flying monsters.
Denver artist Lucas Richards has assembled a museum-quality retrospective of the intrepid adventurers' adventures for display at the Thin Man from June 3rd thru July 31st. The exhibit will include mounted specimens of the winged Horndribbles, diary entries penned by Duke and Annabelle, and sketches and paintings that tell the story of their brief stay on this Lost Island of the Mad.
Enthusiastic patrons will be able to purchase the relics, including the adorable Horndribble specimens, which bear a striking resemblance to hand-sewn plush sculptures.
Local indie pop band, Six Months to Live, will perform a rare acoustic set at the Ubusububi room, the Thin Man's basement beatnik venue, for the June 5th opening reception. This opportunity to hear the band’s vocalists harmonize in a tranquil setting is itself worth the trip.
Richards' previous art show, The Horndribble Hunter, was a mighty success (he sold each of more than 30 sculptures). The Mystery of the Wakatrance promises even more thrills.
